AML screening methodology
How TRON addresses and USDT TRC-20 transactions are analyzed, which risk categories are considered, and how to use screening results.
AMLTrace provides an analytics service for screening TRON cryptocurrency addresses and USDT transactions on the TRC-20 standard. The service is not a financial institution, exchange, or custodial service: it does not conduct transactions, hold user funds, or control private keys.
AML assessment of a TRON / USDT address is based on blockchain analysis and connections to known risk entities. Results are intended to support a user's compliance procedures and do not replace the user's own risk-management policy.
Assessment methodology
AMLTrace calculates a risk score through graph analysis of connections to more than 27 risk categories. Reports include the overall score, category breakdown, and sources that contributed to the result.
- Sanctions lists, including OFAC, the UN, the EU, and other lists;
- Darknet marketplaces and illicit services;
- Mixers and obfuscation services;
- Known hacks and thefts;
- Scam projects, Ponzi schemes, and phishing.
Screening levels
One free check is available after registration. Deep screening is available through the WalletConnect button in the account area: the address is selected in the connected wallet, and the flow uses an extended set of 54 sources. Manual address entry is not available for this flow.
Definitions of risk categories and source groups are provided in the separate AML screening risk categories article.
Interpreting results
The risk score is an analytical recommendation, not an automatic verdict about the owner of an address or a transaction. The user makes the final decision to conduct a transaction or apply restrictions based on their own risk-management policy and the circumstances of the transaction.
AMLTrace is intended for lawful use in support of a user's own compliance procedures. Questions about methodology and sources: compliance@amltrace.app.
