Risk categories for TRON address screening
AMLTrace analyzes connections between TRON and USDT TRC-20 addresses and more than 27 risk categories. The main source groups shown in reports are listed below.
Screening compares on-chain data with sources covering sanctioned addresses, mixers, darknet marketplaces, scams, hacks, and other categories. Reports show the score, categories, identified connections, and sources.
This page describes the main category groups. The full set includes more than 27 categories; deep screening through WalletConnect uses an extended set of 54 sources.
Sanctions lists
Addresses included in OFAC SDN and other national sanctions lists, as well as wallets that received funds from them directly or through a transfer chain.
Mixers and tumblers
Services that combine or redistribute assets and make it harder to trace the connection between sender and recipient. Use of a mixer alone does not prove that funds are criminally sourced.
Darknet marketplaces
Marketplace wallets, deposit addresses, and seller withdrawal addresses when they are present in AML analytics sources.
Scams and phishing
Addresses connected with known fraud schemes, including fake exchanges and support services, phishing sites, fake giveaways, Ponzi schemes, and investment scams.
Stolen funds and hacks
Addresses connected with known incidents, including exchange, bridge, and protocol hacks, as well as thefts from personal wallets.
Gambling
Deposit and payout addresses associated with crypto casinos, bookmakers, and gaming platforms.
P2P and exchanges
Addresses of P2P platforms and exchange services included in the AML analytics sources used.
KYC exchanges
Exchange wallets that conduct customer identification. This group reflects address clustering and activity profile.
Other sources
Transfers between personal wallets, service payments, movements within one cluster, and addresses without known attribution.
Reading categories in a report
The risk score shows the share of identified risk connections in the total volume of screened flows. AMLTrace materials use the following scale: 0–25% — low risk, 25–60% — medium risk, above 60% — high risk. The score is a screening recommendation, not an automatic verdict.
